Keith Rajecki is a Solutions Architect with Global Government, Education, and Healthcare at Sun Microsystems. He develops strategic technology solutions to meet industry demands. Keith possesses over 13 years of innovative experience in higher education where he has led datacenter consolidations and the standardization of university technology infrastructure.

Jose Carlos Ramalho and two researchers (Miguel Ferreira and Luis Ferros) have this year launched KEEP SOLUTIONS, an academic spin-off company dedicated to Digital Preservation. KEEP is currently developing the Portuguese Digital Archive Portal and the Portuguese Library Scientific Portal among products targeted at long-term access and storage of Digital Objects.

Jose has worked as a teacher since 1991 until the present. From 1996 he has been researching in the Structured Documents area and is coordinating several projects in the Digital Archives and Libraries field. He was responsible for the creation of the conference series called XATA (starting in 2003). He has written two books and many articles presented at international and national conferences.

Previously, Jose Carlos Ramalho worked for the CCTC Research Centre, where he completed his PhD in 'Structured Documents Semantics' in 2000 and as a Researcher at Algoritmi's Research Center and Assistant at the Department of Informatics where he worked on his MSc.

Carlos Ramalho graduated as a Systems and Informatics Engineer in 1991. During his graduation he has worked as a freelancer software developer and as a network technician for Apple. During this time he also taught several courses about computer programming for several public institutions.

Marcel Ras is Head of the e-Depot Department of the National Library of The Netherlands (KB). Previously, he worked between 2007 and 2005, as Project Manager Web Archiving. From 1999 to 2005 he worked as a Consultant for the Digital Heritage Association and was involved in many digitization and standardisation projects in The Netherlands. Previously, he worked on Historical Information Processing at Leiden University as Head and Teacher of the at the Post-Graduate training school. He has also worked for some years of Archaeological field survey in different countries. He received his M.A. degree from Nijmegen University in the fields of Ancient History and Archaeology in 1992. Marcel is still involved in training and teaching at Leiden University in the field of digitization and digital preservation.

Najla Rettberg works as an independent digital preservation consultant on a range of projects. She is currently working for Charles Beagrie on the JISC-funded institutional preservation policy study. She was formerly the Executive Secretary of the Digital Preservation Coalition, an independent, not for profit membership organisation established to progress the digital preservation agenda in the UK. Before joining the DPC she worked in a consultancy capacity for the Digital Curation Centre, JISC, Kings College London and OCLC. Najla first got involved in digital preservation in 2000 when she worked at Edinburgh University Library on a number of digital library projects, which included developing a university digital preservation policy.

Oya Rieger is associate university librarian for information technologies at Cornell University Library and oversees the repository development, digital preservation, electronic publishing, digitization, and e-scholarship initiatives. Her responsibilities also involve the coordination of Library's large-scale digitization collaborations. She is the coauthor of the award-winning Moving Theory into Practice: Digital Imaging for Libraries and Archives (Research Libraries Group 2000) and has served on several digital imaging and preservation working groups including co-chairing the development of ANSI/NISO Technical Metadata for Digital Images. Her recent publication in 2008 by CLIR focuses on the digitization challenges presented by large-scale digitization projects. She has a B.S. in Economics, an M.P.A., and an M.S. in Information Systems. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in a joint Cornell program with the Communication, Information Science, and Science & Technology Studies departments. Her research interests focus on sociocultural aspects of digital technologies and scholarly communication.

David Rosenthal is a long-time Silicon Valley engineer at companies, which include Sun Microsystems, where he was a Distinguished Engineer, and Nvidia, where he was Chief Scientist and employee #4. For the last decade he has been working at Stanford Libraries researching the technologies of digital preservation, and designing and developing the LOCKSS system. Adam Rusbridge recently moved to EDINA at the University of Edinburgh where he is leading the DCC/EDINA jointly-led UK LOCKSS Alliance. Prior to this, he was based at the Humanities Advanced Technology and Information Institute (HATII) at the University of Glasgow where he was the UK LOCKSS (for Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) Technical Support Officer for the UK LOCKSS Pilot Programme since November 2005. Before this, he was a Developer on the Digital Curation Centre's Representation Information Registry and Repository and undertook an ERPANET project to understand the ingest process of small, physical packaged objects into digital repositories. He has acted as Webmaster for a number of projects, most notably ERPANET. Before joining the University of Glasgow he completed an undergraduate degree in Computer Science at the University of Edinburgh, where his dissertation focused on the Migration on Request of digital image files.
