Keitel, Christian
 

Christian Keitel leads the unit for digital preservation within the Landesarchiv Baden-Württemberg. He is a member of several working groups, including Nestor, on certification and on standards, DIN (German National Institute for Standardisation) on digital preservation and at the Conference of the German State Archives on digital records and on statistical records. Christian Keitel studied in Tübingen and Salamanca and received his PhD in Medieval History. He trained as an archivist in Marburg and Detmold (1998-2000). He has published articles on appraisal, archival description and several themes of digital preservation.

Kelly, Brian
 

Brian Kelly is UK Web Focus - a national web coordination and advisory role - for UKOLN (UK Office for Library and Information Networking), University of Bath. UKOLN is a centre of expertise in digital information funded by the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) and the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA). Brian's areas of work include: web standards, web accessibility, Web 2.0 and quality assurance for digital library development activities. Brian is the project director for the JISC PoWR (Preservation of Web Resources) project.

Klas, Claus-Peter
 

Claus-Peter Klas is a Researcher on interactive information retrieval and long-term preservation at the Fern Universität, Hagen. His research focuses on evaluation of digital libraries and exploration of new challenging services for Daffodil. He completed his Ph.D. thesis on the project Daffodil in 2007. Previously, he worked as Research Assistant within the Information Retrieval group of Prof. Fuhr, at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Claus-Peter Klas received his Computer Science Diploma at the University of Dortmund in 1998.

Knight, Gareth
 

Gareth Knight is Digital Preservation Officer for the Centre for e-Research (CERCH), a research department in King's College London. He is responsible for the investigation and implementation of preservation strategy, performing actions necessary to ensure digital collections are managed correctly and are fit for purpose. In this role, he provides technical advice to depositors and other projects wishing to manage their digital resources. Gareth also contributes expertise to the JISC-funded InSPECT Project investigating the significant properties of digital objects and other preservation-related projects.

Knight, Steve
 

Steve Knight is the Associate Director, National Digital Library and Programme Architect, National Digital Heritage Archive at the National Library of New Zealand.

The National Digital Library focuses on access to and preservation of New Zealand digital content with a particular view to modelling and developing solutions that can be disseminated or scaled to the national level. It facilitates implementation of the operational and technical infrastructure for the integration of digital materials into the collections of the National Library, enhances access to New Zealand's cultural heritage online through increased digitisation, and provides leadership and research in the delivery of cultural materials online.

The National Digital Heritage Archive is a flagship National Digital Library project to ensure the long term storage, preservation, and provision of access to New Zealand's digital cultural heritage.

From a library background Steve has experience in a range of information management disciplines, including records management and document management and the design and implementation of electronic services. Among other initiatives Steve was involved in setting up the National Digital Forum in New Zealand, the award-winning Matapihi collaboration and the NDHA mentioned above. Steve represents the National Library on the National Digital Forum Board and is on the Steering Committee for the International Internet Preservation Consortium.

Kosovic,Douglas
 

Douglas Kosovic is a Senior Systems Programmer within the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ITEE) at the University of Queensland, Australia where he is responsible for systems programming as well as the development of eResearch prototypes. He is also responsible for the support and maintenance of the AccessGrid toolkit (www.accessgrid.org) and is involved in OptIPortal development (multi-display visualization clusters). Previously, he worked for the Distributed Systems Technology Centre (DSTC) where he was involved in developing research prototypes, middleware and standards in the fields of distributed computing middleware and the filtering, recording and delivery of digital video broadcasts. He graduated with a Masters of InfoTechnology at the University of Queensland in 1994.
