At the closing ceremony of iPRES 2025 in Wellington, the Future Host Sub-Group of the iPRES Steering Group announced the cities selected to host the International Conference on Digital Preservation (iPRES) from 2027 to 2030.
The announcement follows a careful review of all hosting bids received. The Steering Group was greatly encouraged by the strong interest, clear enthusiasm, and high quality of the bids – reflecting a broad, global commitment to advancing digital preservation and the continued strength of the iPRES conference series.
The Steering Group extends its appreciation to all organisations that submitted bids.
The selected host cities are:
- 2027 – Ville de Québec, Canada
- 2028 – Mexico City, Mexico
- 2029 – Prague, Czech Republic
- 2030 – Belfast, Northern Ireland / Dublin, Ireland
Further information about each conference will be shared by the respective local organisers in due course.
As this new cycle of hosts is announced, the Steering Group also looks ahead with enthusiasm to the next gathering of the global digital preservation community in Copenhagen in 2026. Preparations for iPRES 2026 are well underway, and the community can look forward to another engaging and enriching conference before the series continues on to the newly confirmed host cities.
