LeFurgy, William G
 

Bill LeFurgy is Project Manager, Digital Initiatives, for the Library of Congress' National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program (NDIIP). He leads the Preserving State Government Information initiative, which works with 23 states to preserve geospatial information, state legislative records, and other materials of long-term value. Bill also manages several other NDIIPP projects that work with a variety of domestic and international partners.

Prior to joining the Library of Congress in 2002, LeFurgy served as Deputy Director of Modern Records Programs with the National Archives and Records Administration. He worked for the National Archives for 12 years in areas such as digital information preservation and access, records appraisal, and records management. LeFurgy received his Master of Arts in history and Master of Library Science degrees from the University of Maryland, College Park, and his Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University

Lang, Suzanne
 

Suzanne Lang has been engaged with several digitization projects at the Digital Department of the Bavarian State Library. Since Spring this year, she has worked for the DFG (German Research Foundation)-Study 'Development of organizational and business models for the long-term preservation of digital objects.' She completed a course for higher education and research management at the German University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer in 2007. She obtained a masters degree in political science from Munich University in 2006.

Lunghi, Maurizio
 

Maurizio Lunghi is Scientific Director of the FRD and is responsible for coordinating projects and specific activity on digitisation and digital preservation related issues. He has worked in international research projects on new technologies. This included three years at the European Commission DG-INFSO where he acted as project officer and evaluator. During that time, he developed expertise on benchmarking and process indicators. Maurizio participates in Digital Preservation Europe (DPE) - a programme, funded by the European commission, which coordinates action on digital preservation and has specific tasks to build communities and produce study material. In 2005, he worked for the Luxembourg Ministry of Culture to organise the cultural activities during the Presidency of the EU. In 2004, he contributed to the Lund Action Plan renovation on behalf of the Dutch Ministry of Culture. He is co-author of various documents including: a benchmarking model for digitisation policies, the NRG progress report on 2002 and 2003, and the "Firenze agenda".
